Holiday Drop Cookies image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup Shortening
2 cups Brown Sugar
2 pieces Eggs
1/2 cup Buttermilk
3 1/2 cups Flour
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 cups Pecans - Broken
2 cups Candied Cherries
2 cups Dates - cut up
1/2 cup Pecan halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400
  • Mix shortening, brown sugar and eggs well
  • Stir in buttermilk
  • Blend dry ingredients
  • Add dry ingredients and stir well
  • Stir pecans, cherries and dates into batter
  • Chill at least 1 hour
  • Drop by spoonful on lightly greased cookie sheet
  • Place 1/2 pecan on each cookie
  • Bake 8-10 minutes
