HEATHER'S CHILI image

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 pound ground beef
1 white onion
1 red or green bell pepper
1 16 oz can kidney, drained
1 32 oz can pinto beans, drained
1 16 oz can garbanzo beans, drained
2 16 oz cans diced tomatoes
1 16 oz can tomato sauce
1+ teaspoons cumin
1+ teaspoons chili powder
1/2+ teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
salt
water

Steps:

  • ~ Chop the onion and red bell pepper into 1/2 in dice. Heat a large pot and add ground beef, onions, and bell pepper. Saute until beef is browned and cooked through. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well. Add water to make into a thick, soupy mixture. Add more seasoning if needed. Allow to simmer for 30-45 minutes on low. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. You may need to add additional water. Season with salt and additional spices if needed. Serve hot. Freezes well.
