Hamburger Gravy with Pork and Beans over Cornbread image

When our son was young and he would have a gang of his friends over to hangout this was one of the cheapest ways to feed 4-5 hungry young men.

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 pound(s) lean ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
2 large cans pork and beans
1/4-1/2 cup(s) brown sugar, firmly packed
1 teaspoon(s) garlic powder with parsley
2 tablespoon(s) molasses
1 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce
- kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- cornbread or corn muffins for serving

Steps:

  • Saute ground beef and onions until meat is fully cooked and onions are tender. Add remaining ingredients except cornbread. Simmer to let flavors marry.
  • Serve over split buttered cornbread or corn muffins.
