Ham - Lentil Soup, Crock Pot Style image

This recipe is specifically put together for preparing in a Crock Pot, making this soup not only easy to prepare but also very tasty.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound(s) ( 2 1/3 cups ), dry lentils
1 1/2 cup(s) chopped carrots
1 cup(s) chopped onion
1 cup(s) chopped celery
1/4 cup(s) snipped parsley
1 - bay leaf
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) dried marjoram, crushed
1/8 teaspoon(s) pepper
1 1/2 pound(s) meaty ham bone
7 cup(s) water

Steps:

  • Rinse lentils; place in crock pot. Add vegetables, parsley, and bay leaf. Stir in salt, marjoram, and pepper; place ham bone atop. Add water.
  • Cover and cook on low heat setting for 9 to 11 hours.
  • Lift ham bone from soup. Remove meat from bone; discard bone. Return meat to cooker; season to taste. Remove bay leaf
