Want to sneak some veggies onto your kids' plates... and enjoy it? Try these delicious grilled chicken burgers. There are vegetables cooked within the patty, lending tons of additional flavor and keeps the chicken moist. A tasty alternative to beef burgers.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 medium onion, chopped
2 teaspoon(s) minced garlic
1 medium red bell pepper or green bell pepper, chopped
1 cup(s) fresh mushrooms (optional)
2 medium carrots, chopped
2 pound(s) ground chicken
1 - egg
1/2 cup(s) fresh bread crumbs
1 tablespoon(s) Od Bay's seasoning
- Kosher salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • One day I brought home this Tyson All Natural Ground Chicken and decided I would make a patty out of this chicken and see what I got, well this made all the difference in the WORLD in the taste of my chicken patties! This is the only ground chicken I will use. They also have an Italian Ground Chicken that I tried but I always go back to just the regular "All Natural" Ground Chicken.
  • The other tool I use when making the "Grilled" Chicken Patty is of course A GRILL! But I am a single girl and not real fond of firing up a grill every time I want a simple chicken patty. This handy indoor grill has always worked out best for me, but I am sure any indoor grill will work out just fine, but grilling is the key to these little jewels. I tried baking and frying blah blah...but always went back to grilling.
  • Preheat an outdoor/indoor grill for medium heat and lightly oil grate (if needed).
  • Lightly spray a saute pan with cooking or oil spray over medium heat. Saute the onion with the garlic first, then the bell pepper, then the mushrooms, and carrots, all to desired tenderness. Set aside and allow all vegetables to cool completely.
  • In a large bowl, combine the chicken and vegetables. Add the egg, bread crumbs, and seasonings to taste.
  • Mix all together well and form into 6-9 patties (depending on how thick you would like your patties).
  • Grill over medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes per side or to desired doneness. ENJOY!
