- *Place broth in dutch oven and add beans and heat *Add chopped onion and garlic *Bring to a boil then simmer until beans are soft *Puree in a blender and return to pot *In a small cup, combine cornstarch with 1/4 cup water and blend until smooth *Add mixture to soup and simmer until it thickens *Garnish with sour cream, bacon bits or parsley and serve
