Green Chili image

My family loves this recipe, because they can enjoy it like a soup or if I make burritos, they can smother them in a sauce. Keeps you warm on a cold winters night. Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 c left over meat: cooked prime rib or pork
1 med onion chopped
2 can(s) whole green chilis
1 pkg brown gravy mix
1 egg
1 1/2 Tbsp cumin
1/2 tsp garlic salt
2 - 3 c water to cover
garnish: sour cream, green onions, cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Toss leftover meat into crock pot. Chop onion & green chili's add to crock pot. Seasonings, & water. Simmer on low for a few hours.
  • 2. Make gravy per package instructions. Let cool, in separate bowl scramble egg, add egg to cool gravy. Ladle warm green chili mixture to gravy, this allows gravy/egg mixture to temper. Stir. Add mixture to Crock pot. Serve when ready.
