GREEN BEANS WITH TOMATOES AND BASIL image

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/2 pound green beans
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 large shallots, thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes
1/4 cup dry white wine
2 tablespoons thinly sliced basil
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Cook green beans in boiling water about 3 minutes. Refresh in cold water. 2. Saute shallots and garlic in butter and olive oil about 2 minutes, add tomatoes and cook 3 minutes. 3. Add beans and cook about 10 minutes. 4. Stir in wine and basil. Simmer 2 minutes. season with salt and pepper.
