Green Bean Casserole, Traditional image

What holiday meal is complete without this classic? But if you'd like to tweak it just a bit, try adding one or more of the ingredients suggested and "pinched" from the comments on Campbell's® own site.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 can(s) campbell's® cream of ___ soup
1/2 cup(s) milk
1 teaspoon(s) soy sauce (optional)
dash(es) ground black pepper
4 cup(s) cooked cut green beans
1 1/3 cup(s) french's® french fried onions
FOR A TWIST
3/4 cup(s) shredded cheddar cheese
1 can(s) water chestnuts
1/4 cup(s) almonds, slivered
2 slice(s) bacon, cooked and crumbled

Steps:

  • Campbell's® Cream of Mushroom soup is the most traditional, but for us non-mushroom-lovers Cream of Celery is a better option, or try Cream of Chicken but omit the soy sauce if you do.
  • Stir the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, beans, and 2/3 cup onions in a 1 1/2-quart casserole pan. For a twist add 1/2 cup cheese, water chestnuts, and/or bacon.
  • Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with remaining onions, almonds, and/or cheese.
  • Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.
