Green Bean Casserole (No Mushrooms) image

I am allergic to mushrooms, so I have to alter this recipe a little bit. Instead of cream of mushroom soup, I use cream of potato. I add a step and heat it with cooked bacon.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 can(s) cream of potato soup
6 slice(s) thick cut bacon
1 cup(s) milk
2 teaspoon(s) soy sauce
8 cup(s) cooked green beans
2 2/3 cup(s) french fried onions

Steps:

  • Cook bacon in skillet until firm. Drain on paper towels, and crumble.
  • Heat soup in a medium saucepan with bacon, adding milk gradually.
  • Stir soup mixture, soy sauce, black pepper, beans and 1 1/3 cups onions in a 3-quart casserole.
  • Bake at 350°F. for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining onions.
  • Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown
