Great Beef Stew! image

Great in the Fall and Winter! Good, thick and hearty meal that sure to please any crowd!

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 lb beef stew meat or venison, cubed and fat removed
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
1 bag(s) baby carrots
6-8 medium potatoes peeled and cubed
2 celery stalks, chopped
8 c water
4 pkg pioneer brown gravy mix
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Boil meat, onions and celery in water for 10 minutes. Add carrots, potatoes, salt and pepper. Simmer for 60-90 minutes. Remove 2 cups of broth and whisk in gravy mix then re-add to soup making sure there are no lumps. Let stand for 15 minutes and serve with cornbread.
