Grandma Annie's German Potato Salad image

I have no clue with this one. We don't have a Grandma Annie in the family, but this recipe was in Mom's recipe file, so I have to add it. LOL!

Number Of Ingredients 9

6 medium potatoes, cooked, peeled & sliced
4 slice(s) bacon, crumbled, uncooked
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon(s) flour
1 cup(s) water
1/3 cup(s) vinegar
1/3 - 1/2 cup(s) sugar
- salt & pepper, to taste
- parsley flakes, to taste

Steps:

  • Chop bacon (see note), & cook. Add onion to bacon & drippings, cook just until soft, not crisp. Add flour to bacon/onion mixture, mix. Add water in, stir. Add vinegar & sugar, continue cooking over low heat. Add salt, pepper & parsley, mix well. Add sliced potatoes, heat until warmed. Serve warm.
  • NOTE: To easily chop bacon raw.... Put what you need (amount) in freezer until stiff. Can easily chop up without being greasy.
