Gooey Bars image

My daughter's favorite ...just another take on the infamous Gooey Cake. She requests these for any special occasion...and they are so simple to make.

Number Of Ingredients 9

BARS
1 box yellow cake mix (i prefer butter recipe golden)
1 stick butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 c pecans chopped fine
TOPPING
3 1/2 c powdered sugar
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
2 eggs

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 and lightly grease a 9x13 pan
  • 2. BARS: Mix all ingredients together by hand. Press into lightly greased 9x13 pan.
  • 3. TOPPING: Mix all ingredients together with a mixer, pour over bar mixture.
  • 4. Bake at 325 for 40 minutes
