Yield Makes 1 cookie

Number Of Ingredients 9

Dani Fiori's Royal Icing
Peach, pink, white, red, and brown gel-paste food coloring
1 Gnomi-shaped Sugar Cookie Cutouts
Sweetheart candies
Blue, green, or violet candy beads
Large confetti-candy circles
Sanding sugar or white nonpareils
Pearl or white small candy beads
Pink pigment dust

Steps:

  • Mix together some royal icing with peach gel paste until desired peach shade is reached. Transfer to a small squirt bottle with a wide tip. Leaving a 1/4-inch border, outline the face, hand, and feet of the gnomi. Draw several zigzags across entire surface of the outlined area. If necessary, use a toothpick to spread evenly. Add a sweetheart to the hand and two blue, green, or violet candy beads to face to form eyes.
  • Mix together some royal icing with pink gel paste until desired pink shade is reached. Transfer to a small squirt bottle with a wide tip. Leaving a 1/4-inch border, outline dress and suspenders. Draw several zigzags across entire surface of the outlined area. If necessary, use a toothpick to spread evenly. Add two large confetti-candy circles to suspenders to create buttons. Let dry 4 to 8 hours.
  • Mix together some royal icing with white gel paste until desired shade of white is reached. Transfer to a small squirt bottle with a wide tip. Leaving 1/4-inch border, outline hat. Draw several zigzags across entire surface of the outlined area. If necessary, use a toothpick to spread evenly. Sprinkle immediately with sanding sugar or white nonpareils.
  • Mix together some royal icing with red gel paste until desired red shade is reached. Transfer to a small squirt bottle with a wide tip. Leaving a 1/4-inch border, outline the shirt. Draw several zigzags across entire surface of the outlined area. If necessary, use a toothpick to spread evenly. Using tweezers, immediately add pearl candy beads to create a necklace. Add a sweetheart candy in the center to create a charm.
  • Mix together some royal icing with brown gel paste until desired brown shade is reached. Transfer to a small squirt bottle with a wide tip. Leaving a 1/4-inch border, outline shoes. Draw several zigzags across entire surface of the outlined area. If necessary, use a toothpick to spread evenly.
  • Using a small paintbrush, lightly brush cheeks with pink pigment dust, being careful not to touch hat or shirt. Let dry at least 8 hours and up to overnight.
