Steps:
- 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2. Spread drained sauerkraut evenly over bottom of 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
- 3. Sprinkle with brown sugar; add pork chops in a single layer.
- 4. Toss together sliced onions, apples and celery in medium bowl.
- 5. Spread evenly over pork chops.
- 6. Add beer.
- 7. Combine fennel seeds, cinnamon and cloves in small bowl.
- 8. Sprinkle over vegetables.
- 9. Cover pan with foil.
- 10. Bake 1 1/2 hours.
- 11. Remove foil; pour sherry over chops.
- 12. Continue to cook, uncovered, 30 minutes.
- 13. Serve with boiled potatoes or spaetzle.
