Fried Chicken image

This is quick and easy to make. Some of the seasonings can be altered to fit your personal tastes.

1 chicken
1 1/2 c self-rising flour
1 1/4 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp black pepper
1 Tbsp seasoned salt (i use lawry's)
1 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 c buttermilk
1 tsp adobo seasoning
2 1/2 c vegetable oil (or your choice)

Steps:

  • 1. Cut up your chicken if necessary. (You may also use your favorite parts of the chicken already cut up.) Wash chicken and put in a medium sized bowl. Add the buttermilk and cover. Place in the refrigerator from 1-2 hours to marinate.
  • 2. After marinating the chicken for 1-2 hours. Take out. In a separate bowl mix flour and all the seasonings. Dip pieces in covering thoroughly with the flour and seasoning mixture. Shake off excess. In a large skillet heat oil.
  • 3. Place pieces of chicken in oil and fry on both sides for about 15 mins. per side. Remove from skillet and drain off excess oil. Cool and serve.
