Fresh Strawberry Buttermilk Pound Cake (No Jello or Kool-Aid) - My Strawberry Pound Cake is dense, soft, and super moist from FRESH strawberries!

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pint strawberries
1 cup solid vegetable shortening
3 cups granulated sugar
5 large eggs (at room temperature)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk (at room temperature)
3 cups all-purpose flour (sifted (do not use self-rising flour))
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon strawberry extract
4 - 5 drops red food coloring (*if desired)
