FRENCH MEAT PIE image

Yield 4-6 peopl

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 Tbsp Cooking Oil
1 Large onion diced
1 lb ground beef (or Buffalo, moose etc)
1 lb ground pork
2 cups potatoes diced i inch
2 tsp allspice
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
pastry for 2 crust pie
1 egg beaten

Steps:

  • Boil potatoes until tender. In a large frying pan saute onions. Put aside. Brown meats in a large frying pan, drain and put n large bowl. Add onions , potatoes , seasonings. Use a hand masher and mash ingredients together. be sure to mix thoroughly. Preheat oven to 375 Place bottom crust in pan. Fill with mixture. Wet edges of crust. Put on top crust and seal with fork and flute edges. Make 6 slits in circle around middle of crust. Brush top with beaten egg. bake for 30 - 40 minutes until crust is golden brown.
