Flour's Famous Banana Bread image

Adapted slightly from www.foodnetwork.com. Two days after making it, the bread is still just as moist as the first day I made it. Very easy and uses lots of bananas. The best I've ever made!

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
4 bananas, mashed
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped (optional)

Steps:

  • Set oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a large loaf pan (it won't fit in a standard loaf pan).
  • Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
  • Beat sugar and eggs with a whisk until light and fluffy, about 10 minutes. Drizzle in oil.
  • Add mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla. Fold in dry ingredients and nuts.
  • Pour into the loaf pan and bake for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
