Number Of Ingredients 10

Dough:
1/2c butter
3/4c sifted confectioners' sugar
1T vanilla
1 1/2c sifted flour
1/2t salt
Icing:
1c sifted confectioners' sugar
2T cream
1t vanilla

Steps:

  • Mix butter, sugar, and vanilla. Blend in flour thoroughly by hand. Wrap about 1T dough around filling. Bake 1" apart on ungreased baking sheet 12-15 minutes, until set but not brown. Dip tops of warm cookies in icing. Top each with any desired topping before icing dries. Suggested fillings: cherry, date, nut or chocolate piece. (For chocolate icing, use 1/4c cream and 1 oz unsweetened chocolate.
