Fettuccine Alfredo with Asparagus image

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/4 cups Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, divided
2 tablespoons cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 ounces fettuccine noodles, uncooked
1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
2 teaspoons parsley, chopped flat-leaf

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil. Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Stir in flour. Gradually add milk, whisking continuously. Cook 6 minutes or until mixture thickens, whisking constantly. Add 1 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano, cream cheese and salt, whisking until cheese melts.
