Fastest and Best Pasta Fagioli ever! image

This is a meatless meal, it is so good on a cold day. It is so simple to make and oh so good. Served with a nice crusty bread your family will come back for more. I usually double the recipe and freeze the leftovers. I usually use more garlic than the recipe calls for, we love our garlic. Enjoy!!

Number Of Ingredients 14

3 cloves of garlic
4 t. oil
2-8oz. cans tomato sauce
2-8oz. cans water
1- 6oz. can tomato paste
1- 6oz. can water
1 tsp parsley (fresh or dried)
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp oregano, dried
1/2 tsp basil, dried
1/2 tsp salt
1- 15oz. can great northern beans
4oz. ditalini pasta (can use elbows)
1 lb sweet italian sausage

Steps:

  • 1. Put oil in 3 quart saucepan. fry garlic (do not brown) add parsley, pepper, oregano, basil, salt, tomato sauce, tomato paste, cans of water. Stir all and bring to a boil: lower to med heat and simmer 15 min. Add undrained beans, cook an additional 15 min. Cook pasta in a separate pot.
  • 2. Boil pasta in a separate pot until tender, drain and add to bean mixture. Enjoy!!
