Easy Cobbler image

No matter what kind of dessert I end up fixing for the holidays, everyone always wants this along with whatever. I usually fix a couple different ones. I've fixed mixed berry, blueberry, apple, cherry, and peach. Everyone's favorites seem to be the cherry and peach, but they're all good! I know there's some on here kind of like...

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 stick butter or margarine (i prefer butter)
1 c self-rising flour
1 c whole milk
1 c sugar
1 can(s) pie filling of your choice

Steps:

  • 1. Spray an over-sized glass baking dish with a vegetable type spray. Melt butter.
  • 2. Put everything together in a bowl, except pie filling. Mix well by hand. I usualy use a whisk. Batter will be lumpy.
  • 3. Be sure to use an over-sized glass dish to bake this in. If you don't, it will spill over the edges. I use a pyrex dish. It says 9.5 inches. These are the same dish, The one with the bigger handles is just newer. You can get them about anywhere, even at a lot of grocery stores.
  • 4. Pour mixture into baking dish, drop pie filling randomly by large spoonfuls on top of mixture. Do not mix or stir, just lay it on top.
  • 5. Bake @ 350* for 50 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your oven. Mine takes about 55 minutes.
  • 6. This is wonderful! Great with a scoop or two of ice cream. There is also a pie filling that is key lime. Haven't tried it, but I think it would be great for summer! Enjoy!
