Combine just six ingredients to make an Earthquake Cake! It gets its name from the delicious pockets and tunnels of flavor that the cream cheese, coconut and sugar provide. Make this Earthquake Cake for your next party!

1 pkg. (2-layer size) devil's food cake mix
1-1/4 cups BAKER'S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut
1 cup pecan halves, chopped
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F
  • Prepare cake batter as directed on package.
  • Sprinkle coconut, then nuts evenly onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray; cover with cake batter.
  • Beat cream cheese and butter in medium bowl with mixer until blended. Gradually add sugar, mixing well after each addition.
  • Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture evenly over cake batter.
  • Bake 50 to 55 min. or until toothpick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Cool completely.
