Double-Chocolate Chunk Cookies image

Rich chocolate dough studded with chunks of semi-sweet chocolate and walnuts is baked into scrumptious drop cookies for the ultimate homemade treat.

Yield Makes 24 servings, 1 cookie each.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pkg. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chunks, divided
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Microwave 1 cup chocolate chunks in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until chocolate is almost melted. Stir until completely melted. Mix flour, baking powder and salt until well blended.
  • Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Blend in melted chocolate. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in remaining chocolate chunks and nuts.
  • Drop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheets.
  • Bake 10 min. or until cookies are puffed and tops are firm to the touch. Cool on baking sheets 1 min.; remove to wire racks. Cool completely.
