Steps:
- Beat egg whites till stiff. Cook sugar, syrup, and water to thin syrup (soft-ball) stage. Slowly pour 1/3 of mixture over stiffly beaten egg whites, beating constantly. Cook remaining syrup to hard-ball stage (310°). Add to egg mixture with vanilla, beating till mixture holds shape and will drop from a spoon. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.
