DELUXE WAFFLES image

Yield 12 waffles

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoos baking powder
5 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups 1/2 & 1/2 or regular milk
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 vanilla bean pod or 3 tablespoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • 1. Scrape vanilla bean pod into milk, toss pod into milk, heat to warm stiring often, remove pod, set aside 2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, salt, bakig powder and sugar, set aside. 3. In a saparate bowl beat egg yoke. Stir in room temperature vanilla milk and melted butter. 4. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture: beat until blended, fold in egg whites. 5. pour the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden and crisp.
