David Venable's Holiday Party Mix image

David Venable is the host of the "In the Kitchen" segment on QVC. He shares recipes and several viewers raved about this recipe. I've decided that this will be my Christmas gift this year so I'm saving the recipe here.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/4 cups honey nut toasted oat cereal (like Cheerios)
1 1/4 cups Corn Chex
1/2 cup salted peanuts or 1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts
1/4 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup crushed peanut brittle
4 ounces candy-coated m&ms peanut butter flavor extract
5 ounces small pretzels (half of a 10-oz. store-bought package)
6 ounces white chocolate chips (half of a 12-oz. store bought package)
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix together the cereals, peanuts, almonds, brittle, candy-coated peanut butter pieces, and pretzels. Set aside. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the white chocolate chips and oil for 45 seconds to 1 minute. Stir and place back in the microwave for 5 - 10 seconds. Remove and stir until smooth. Pour into cereal mixture and toss well to combine.
  • Spread on 2 large wax or parchment paper-covered baking sheets. Allow mix to cool for 1 hour. Break apart and store in an airtight 3-qt. container.
