Great addition at Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, or anytime family and friends get together. WARNING: very rich!

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 c brown sugar
3 1/2 c water
2 or 3 Tbsp butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1 c milk
1 c chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
1 c chopped dates (pitted)
2 c all purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder

Steps:

  • 1. Combine first 3 ingredients. Make a syrup and boil 3 minutes. Pour into lightly floured 9x13 inch pan.
  • 2. Combine remaining ingredients to make dough.
  • 3. Drop dough into the hot syrup by spoonsful.
  • 4. Bake in moderate oven (350) for 30 minutes.
  • 5. Serve warm with whipped cream.
