CRYSTAL CLEAR DRESSING 1949 Recipe image

My precious 91 year old friend Katherine and her sisters have saved their favorite recipes for years.This is one they make over and over again since the 1949 June issue of Better Homes and Gardens. I was a young child when she and her sisters began making this recipe. They have used it since on salads and shredded cabbage slaw....

Number Of Ingredients 6

2/3 c vinegar (she uses white)
6 Tbsp sugar, or more to taste
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 c salad oil
1 1/2 tsp onion juice

Steps:

  • 1. Combine sugar with mustard and mix well, add salt. Mix well in blender. Place in medium / small sauce pan over medium high heat until it begins to boil, boil one minute. COOL.
  • 2. Stir in salad oil and onion juice. Pour into shaker bottles about 1/2 pint size. Keep in refrigerator. Shake well with top on before shaking on salad or slaw. ENJOY
