I had a bunch of Fresh Green Beans that I needed to use up from another recipe I made recently. I was longing for some Green beans like Mom used to cook. So I came up with this Crockpot recipe. I usually cook a small amount on the Stove top using the same ingredients. You can use canned Green beans if you choose. Or use frozen beans.

Steps:
- wash and trim the beans. Snap into 1 to 2 inch pieces.
- Chop onion and start frying bacon until almost crisp.
- wash and cut your potatoes into quarters.
- add your ham base to 1 cup of water and boil or put in microwave to boil.
- Add your green beans to the crockpot along with chopped onion, potatoes and spices.
- pour ham base broth over all and add the cooked bacon.
- cook on high for 3 1/2 hours. check for doneness on the potatoes. add more time if needed. I did stir and move all around a few times to distribute ingredients and spices.
