Crock Pot Beef Stroganoff - Cassies image

I made this delicious meal for the family last night. I needed something cooking for their dinner, while I worked. All my husband had to do is add the cream cheese the last 10 minutes of cooking...it was a big hit. They loved it over rice. I doubled the batch. I am posting a single batch of ingredients. Enjoy!! Time 5h15m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 lb lean stewing beef cubes
1 can(s) cream mushroom soup
1/2 can(s) water
1 1/2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
8 oz fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 onion chopped, or more
1/2 tsp onion salt
salt and pepper
1 tsp minced garlic ( i used the jar kind )
4 oz cream cheese
warm rice or noodles to serve over

Steps:

  • 1. Add the beef, mushrooms, and onions to the pot. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • 2. Combine the soup, water, garlic, onion salt and Worcestershire sauce. Add to the pot and stir to combine.
  • 3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or on high for 5 hours. Check for tenderness of the beef. I cooked mine for 5 hours on high and was nice and tender, but all crock pots and slow cookers are different. Yours may take longer. When the beef is tender...add the cream cheese. Let it melt for 10 minutes; then stir to combine.
  • 4. It is now ready to serve.
