Creamy Mushroom Sauce with Garlic and Dijon image

Great on a steak, but also perfectly good on pork loin or chops, or oven baked chicken thighs..

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 tablespoon(s) unsalted butter
2 cup(s) portabella mushrooms, sliced (or button mushrooms)
4 clove(s) garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon(s) dried basil
2 teaspoon(s) flour
2 tablespoon(s) white wine
2 teaspoon(s) dijon mustard
1 1/4 cup(s) whipping cream

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a large skillet. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until browned and they lose their liquid.
  • Add the garlic and stir for one minute. Add the herbs and cook for 2 more minutes. Don't let the garlic burn.
  • Stir the flour into the mushrooms and cook for 1 minute. Add the wine, mustard, and cream. Whisk until smooth and bubbly. Taste and add salt and pepper to taste.
