Creamy Chicken Rotini image

I trying to think of some nice comfort food for a cold evening and I came up with this, based on what I had in my pantry.

Number Of Ingredients 11

8 oz cream cheese
2 Tbsp butter
1 clove minced garlic
1/2 tsp minced onion
1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
4 oz sour cream
3/4 can(s) milk (using the soup can)
4 slice american cheese
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
8 oz rotini pasta

Steps:

  • 1. heat cream cheese and butter over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  • 2. Add garlic, onion, soup, sour cream, American cheese and milk. Stir until smooth and bring to a low simmer, then reduce heat to warm, stirring occasionally.
  • 3. Cut chicken into 1 inch pieces. Heat olive oil in skillet and add chicken. Cook until chicken is lightly browned and done through.
  • 4. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and mix into sauce. Fold in chicken and serve.
