Creamy Chicken Noodle Bake image

I got this recipe off a bag of egg noodles. I typically assemble the casserole in advance and have kept it in my freezer for 1-2 months. You may want to add some additional salt and pepper to taste.

0.5 (16 ounce) package egg noodles, uncooked
4 cups hot water
4 chicken bouillon cubes
6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine
6 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1 pinch pepper
4 cups diced cooked chicken
3 tablespoons parsley flakes

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Prepare noodles according to package directions; drain.
  • Dissolve bouillon cubes in hot water and reserve.
  • In saucepan, melt butter or margarine; stir in flour and seasonings.
  • Slowly add reserved water.
  • Cook and stir over low heat until thickened.
  • Add remaining ingredients and noodles, tossing gently to mix.
  • Pour into a greased 13x9x2-inch pan.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  • Refrigerate any leftovers.
