Creamed Tuna on Toast image

This recipe is handed down from my mothers mother. I always looked forward to dinner when we had this. Was a popular dinner on friday nights during Lent.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 stick(s) butter
3 tablespoon(s) flour
2 cup(s) milk
2 can(s) tuna packed in oil
1 can(s) peas and carrots
3 - egg, hard boiled
4 slice(s) american cheese
- salt, pepper, onion powder & garlic powder
- bread for toast

Steps:

  • Melt butter in medium pan over medium heat. Add flour and stir to blend. Slowly add milk and stir until it starts to thicken a bit.
  • Add drained tuna, peas & carrots, diced up hard boiled eggs. Stir in salt, pepper, onion and garlic to your own taste.
  • Add 4-5 slices of American cheese and stir until melted. Reduce heat to low. Test and see if you want anymore seasoning. Toast your bread and butter it. Place on serving plate and top with creamed tuna. Serve and enjoy.
