A basic ole recipe. Nothing fancy or smancie. Just plain good cooking. I have served this with salmon patties.....etc. Try it you might like it. Sorta nice to go back to your grandma's cooking. You will never find this in a can!!

Steps:
- 1. Peel and slice onions. Cook , covered in a large amount of boiling salted water till tender. 20-ti 25 minutes. Drain. In another saucepan mix butter,flour, salt and thyme, and a dash of pepper. Blend in milk, cook , stirring constantly,till thickened and bubbly. Stir in the cooked onion slices Heat and serve.
