Cream Cheese Frosting image

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
2 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Beat the cream cheese and butter in a large bowl with a mixer on medium-high speed until creamy, about 2 minutes. Reduce the mixer speed to low; beat in half the confectioners' sugar until combined. Beat in the remaining confectioners' sugar, the salt and vanilla.
  • Increase the speed to medium high and beat until smooth and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
