Crawfish Bread image

Family Favorite! The smell when cooking draws everyone to the kitchen! Great used for leftover crawfish (after the boil). Usually served as an appetizer, it's so filling I can easily be a meal..

1 lb cooked crawfish tails
5 Tbsp butter
5 clove garlic
1 medium french bread (split)
1 medium seeded tomato
1/2 Tbsp kosher salt
1 Tbsp ground black pepper
2 Tbsp cajun seasonings
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
3/4 c grated pepperjack cheese
1/4 c grated havarti cheese
1/2 c mayonnaise
2 Tbsp fresh parsley for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350* Melt butter over medium heat, chop garlic and sauté in butter for 1 minute. Chop tomato and add to butter & garlic along with seasonings and crawfish. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat & place in a bowl..Add cheeses & mayo. Mix well. Spread on bread and cook 10-15 minutes, then broil for a minute or two. Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with parsley. Slice and enjoy!
