- This is a great comfort food to use for several days as "planned overs" or to feed a crowd. This is best served with hot crusty bread to dip into the soup. Brown ground meat. (I use ground turkey.) Add salt to taste. Set aside. Saute onion and celery in large soup kettle. Add browned meat. Add canned vegetables, and remainder of ingredients. Adjust spices to taste. Simmer slowly to blend flavors. Serve hot.
