CORNMEAL BUTTERMILK BISCUITS image

Yield 8 biscuits

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
1-1/2 TBS sugar
2 tsps baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 TBS chilled butter, cut into small peices
1/2 cup low fat buttermilk

Steps:

  • preheat oven to 450. Lightly spoon flour into a drey measuring cup, level with knife. Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a meduim bowl, cut in butter, add butttermilk and stir until just moist. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surace. Pat dough into and 8 x 4 inch rectangle. Cut 1 lengthwise adn 3 crosswise cuts, to form 8 biscuits. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 for 12 minutes.
