Copycat recipe: Olive Garden Alfredo Sauce image

Ok, so who DOESN'T love Olive Garden's Alfredo sauce? I know I LOVE this stuff. It's a versatile and decadent sauce for the base of MANY pasta dishes. It's also good just to dip hot breadsticks into. Man, I'm hungry now.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pint heavy cream
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 Tbsp ( 1 oz) cream cheese
3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1 tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Combine cream, butter, and cream cheese in heavy saucepan. Cook over medium heat until all ingredients are melted and blended. Stir it pretty much constantly,
  • 2. Add parmesan cheese and garlic, stir to incorporate.
  • 3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 min. stirring to prevent sticking on bottom.
  • 4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • 5. Serve over pasta or as a dipping sauce for breadsticks.
