COOKIE JAR GINGER SNAPS image

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. salt
¾ cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ cup molasses
1 egg
granulated sugar

Steps:

  • Combine flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon and salt. Cream shortening until soft; gradually add sugar. Beat in egg and molasses. Sift dry ingredients over creamed mixture and blend well. Form dough into balls and roll in sugar. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes until crackly and slightly brown. Cool completely and store in airtight container.
