CINNAMON-SUGAR ALMONDS image

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 c whole almonds, blanched or skin-on
1 tsp canola oil
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp kosher salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300*. Spread almonds out on a single layer on an ungreased baking sheet. Roast 20-25 min. until fragrant and toasty. Shake the pan or stir the nuts occasionally with a wooden spoon so they roast evenly. Heat the canola oil in a saucepan or cast-iron skillet. Add the nuts and stir to coat with the oil. Add the cinnamon-sugar mixture and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar melts and starts to caramelize, about 5 min. Spread the nuts on a plate to cool, stirring occasionally, to keep them from sticking.
