Cinnamon Apple Raisin French Toast Bake image

A delicious way to use up leftover Italian bread! Serve warm for a breakfast or brunch that will keep them coming back for more!

1 loaf Italian bread, torn into bite sized pieces
8 large eggs
1 cup milk (or Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1 medium apple, finely chopped (I used Granny Smith)
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 dash salt
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
batter
1 dash salt
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Tear bread into bite sized pieces and spread in shallow pan (I used Pampered Chef's Shallow Baker.).
  • Mix batter ingredients.
  • Pour over bread pieces: stir to coat bread well.
  • Mix topping ingredients until crumbly and sprinkle over top of bread.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until top is brown and crispy.
  • Serve warm.
