Cinnamon Almond Crescents image

From my Mamaw's recipe collection.

Number Of Ingredients 9

FOR THE CRESCENTS
1 cup(s) butter, softened
1/3 cup(s) sugar
1/2 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1 2/3 cup(s) all purpose flour
1/2 cup(s) finely ground blanched almonds
FOR THE TOPPING
1/2 cup(s) sugar
1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Combine flour and almonds; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Roll into 1 inch balls; shape into crescents. Place 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake at 350F for 10-12 minutes or until set (do not brown).
  • In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Roll warm cookies in cinnamon sugar; cool on wire racks.
