Steps:
- 1. In the pot you'll be using to cook the chili, brown onion, garlic, and ground beef in olive oil. 2. Add the contents of the Cincinnati Chili spice mixture (except the chunks of chocolate, which will be added just before serving). 3. Stir in the tomatoes (and drained black beans if making vegetarian). 4. Add enough beef broth or water to achieve a consistency just short of thin-not soup. 5. Simmer for no less than 2 hours. 6. Add chocolate in the last 10 minutes of cooking. 7. Taste and add salt/pepper as needed.
