- To make the Graham Cracker Crust:
- In a small bowl, mix together the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter until well combined.
- Press evenly into the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate.
- Refrigerate for one hour or bake at 375 degrees for 7 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Let cool before filling.
- To Make the Caramel Cream Pie:
- First, place the unopened cans of sweetened condensed milk with the labels off into a large pot of water. (When cooked, the sweetened condensed milk turns into caramel.)
- Bring water to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 3 hours, making sure the water stays above the cans.
- Carefully pull the cans out with a pair of tongs and then let them cool for 3 hours or up to one day.
- Open the cans and pour the caramel into large bowl, reserving ¼ cup.
- Fold in the marshmallow cream.
- Pour into pie shell and chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
- When ready to serve, top with whipped topping and drizzle the remaining ¼ cup caramel over top.
