Steps:
- Melt chocolate and butter together in a medium bowl, either in the microwave or over a double boiler. Add sugar and stir till dissolved. Combine vanilla & eggs, then add slowly to chocolate mixture. In a separate bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt together. Add chocolate mixture to dry ingredients and thoroughly combine. Chill for one hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheet. Using an ice cream scoop or heavy spoon, measure out balls of cookie dough and round off. Roll balls in granulated sugar until coated. Then roll each ball in confectioners sugar and place on greased cookie sheet, spacing cookies apart, as they will spread slightly. Bake 20-25 minutes, until cookie tops have puffed up and cracked. Cookies will have a snowflake crackle top when cooled.
