Steps:
- 1. Sift together sugar and flour.
- 2. Mix in saucepan the butter, cocoa, and water. Bring to boil; pour over sugar and flour and mix well.
- 3. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well and pour in a well-greased 11"x16'" pan. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
- 4. Icing: Mix the following and bring to a boil: butter, cocoa, buttermilk, and salt.
- 5. Remove from heat and add 1 box of sifted confectioners' sugar, 1 teaspoonful vanilla, and 1 cup chopped pecans. Beat until smooth.
- 6. Poke holes with toothpick in hot cake. Pour hot icing over hot cake. Cool and cut into squares. Delicious by itself or with ice cream!
